As you can see, it is possible to get improved perfomance over the recent and modern VP9 using the very well-updated, but 11 years old codec: H.264. At the same time, it is also possible to level HEVC with VP9 in terms of image quality, but using virtually 44% lower bandwidth.

A reasonable conclusion is that, despite VP9 is a great advance for Google-Youtube over its perfectible way of using H.264 (which is different to this one), this codec can be equalized by an optimized way of using H.264, and reached by the still unfinished HEVC which is able to use 43.79% lower bit-rate.

In summary, as it was mentioned in the other comparisons, you can see the results of an innovative set of techniques developed by Human Factor Video, which are able to save much money on bandwidth while keeping and improving image quality. I also wish that VP9 continues to seek the right development path to fix these issues.
